I haven’t looked for either in a few years, but both were easily found at the Garmin site and a few other sites. Mapupdater and Mapinstall are still on my machine as I had to use both when I still had my Nav III as Express did not deal with that. I think recently, they are starting to skimp on the support side. In the past, they worked hard to provide good back office support to integrate these product lines for the consumer. They are a very mismanaged company who have allowed their very different product lines (GPS devices, Basecamp/Mapsource and Map Data) to work in isolation. On an off chance, you may want to have your device connect via USB to your system when you attempt the install. You have already turned off your virus protection and it failed, so your system isn't seeing Express as a virus. Check to make sure you are installing the correct version of Express 32bit or 64bit that matches your OS. As mentioned confirm you version of Windows, your system is very similar to mine and I have seen Windows 10 / 32bit get incorrectly installed before. It may be that there is a corrupted version of the same file that is causing the install to fail. When you go to your apps list (control panel>programs and features), is Garmin Express 6.9.1 already listed? If so, uninstall it. You may have tried this already, if so I apologize for the redundancy. Removing Garmin software and Garmin registry keys in Windows Please uninstall Garmin Express again before proceeding. The following link is for our FAQ with instructions however please use caution or consult a Microsoft certified repair tech or the computer manufacturer for assistance. If Garmin Express still fails to install, there may be some keys in the Windows Registry that need to be removed. Once the Microsoft Fix utility and folder removal have been completed, download and install the desired application from the Garmin software page.
